Graphic and Art nouveau poster collection


The graphic collection of the Caspar-David-Friedrich-Institute of fine arts and art history consist out of 500 original papers. Most of the papers were collected by Institute directors. Others were donated by visiting professors. The papers are used for student art education. Today the collection is still growing by estate of deceased persons, donations of polish graphic artist and art galleries as well as through purchases.

In addition to the graphic collection the Institute owns an art nouveau poster collection. The poster collection consists out of 100 large size pieces of the art nouveau period of 1906 until 1914. Most of the pieces are advertisement posters which were printed in Munich the former center of cultural posters in Germany. dc00332a dc00332b
